Alex Burnett is a composer for games, film & TV and a member of BAFTA Crew Games. He is also skilled in sound design, arranging/orchestration, audio editing and mixing. He has a Masters in Composition for Film and Television from the University of Bristol, as well as a Bachelor of Music from Royal Holloway, University of London.


Alex began writing music for theatre (including his critically acclaimed scores for Encompass' What It Feels Like and Stasis) and has since moved on to working on game, film & TV soundtracks. Alex has written soundtracks for a number of video games and mobile apps. His most recent music and sound design work was on the award-winning game The Wanderer: Frankenstein's Creature (Switch, PC, iOS/Android and coming to PS4/PS5 later this year), a co-production of European TV network ARTE and French games studio La Belle Games, for which his work was nominated in the category of 'Best Soundtrack' at the Ping Awards 2020. The game won the BolognaRagazzi digital award and was named 'App of the Month' by the German Academy for Children's and Youth Literature. It was also nominated for the Best Narrative Award at GamesCom 2018 and received an Honourable Mention for the GDC 2019 Best in Play Awards. Other game audio credits include sci-fi puzzle-platformer game 'The Mimic' (PC) and Cold Horizon (PC). He was also the composer for interactive children's brand Bean&Gone where he was responsible for writing music for their entire range of digital products including educational mobile app 'Bean&Gone: PlayPatch' (iOS/Android).


Alex scored the BBC Earth award-winning wildlife film 'Giants on the Edge' and received a nomination for Best Original Score for his work on medieval fantasy series '9Realms' at international film festival Los Angeles CineFest. He also has experience working as music arranger/director on a number of TV shows including Channel 4's BAFTA award-winning The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan, The Last Leg and All Star Happy Hour where he collaborated with artists including Bastille, Shaggy, UB40 and TLC. Other notable film/TV clients include Panasonic UK, ZSL London Zoo, The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust and Channel 4.


Currently, Alex is working on the score for multi award-winning game Antioch: Scarlet Bay which is being developed for Android and iOS. The game is a production of Midnight Mood Studio founded by Thomas Sandmeier (Detroit: Become Human, The Wanderer: Frankenstein's Creature) with a story by renowned writer FibreTigre (Out There Chronicles) and is coming in 2021.
